La ‘Ohana #2

La ‘Ohana #2

Dear Hālau Kū Māna `Ohana,

Lā ‘Ohana are mandatory school days that are designated on the school year calendar. For each Lā ‘Ohana, the student and at least 1 family member are expected to attend. Each Lā ʻOhana takes on a theme and activities are designed around that theme. It is also an opportunity to display student work, witness hōʻike (student performance/ presentations), and engage in relevant and meaningful learning experiences.

The upcoming Lā ‘Ohana is scheduled for this Saturday, September 26, 2020 and will introduce you to your child’s project. We have set up a website which will guide you through our virtual presentations. Please find the details of our Lā ‘Ohana below.

DRI-FIT FABRICS!

ALOHA!

Aloha kakou,

Once again, we are offering DRI-FIT options in most styles. This means that your keiki (or you) will now be able to benefit from these technical fabrics favored by athletes, watermen, and active people everywhere.

To order uniforms, please visit the Uniform Store at HKM.

The store will be open through 11:59 PM, September 30,2020.

You will be notified when your items are ready for pick-up.

Orders may also be placed in person at the school office, or by calling the office at (808) 945-1600.

School Fees may still be paid online.

JACKETS may take a little longer than other items as they are not screen printed. Each rain jacket is individually embroidered, and this process can take a little longer (we think itʻs worth the wait).

ONLINE EDUCATION READINESS

ONLINE EDUCATION READINESS

Ensure halaukumana.org emails are working.

In orderto receive information and instructions, all students and staff with halaukumana.org gmail addresses should make sure they know how to access their school e-mail, and that their e-mail is working properly.

We are about to embark on a new adventure. Online learning is new. It will provide some challenges and difficulties we have not experienced before. But it will also open the door to new experiences, new ways of learning, and will help all of us to grow as caretakers, kumu, haumana, and staff.

In order to receive instructions and news, students and staff need to ensure they know they HKM email address and how to use it. If you do NOT know your address, or you have an email that is not working, please email it@halaukumana.org, or click the button below. Please check as soon as possible as instruction starts on April 7.

Mahalo for your kokua. Let’s all work together to make this as successful as possible!
