Mākeke Makahiki: Silent Auction

Mākeke Makahiki: Silent Auction

For over a decade, Hālau Kū Māna has been at the forefront of Hawaiian culture-based education, providing our haumāna with an educational experience unlike any other. In turn, our haumāna have lived into our kula’s mission – hoʻokumu, hoʻokele, hoʻomana – by becoming leaders for our ʻāina and kai, education, and beyond. Even in these challenging times, our haumāna show us the important role our kula plays in further advancing Hawaiian education for the 21st century.

As we begin to prepare for the return of Lonoikamakahiki and the renewal Makahiki brings to Ko Hawaiʻi Pae ʻĀina, we hope you will consider helping us to reinvigorate and re-energize our kula by giving to our inaugural Mākeke Makahiki, our first-ever silent auction fundraiser.

You may support our Mākeke Makahiki in two ways:

  • Donating an item(s) or experience(s) (e.g., lomi session, food fermentation class); or
  • Donating money directly to our non-profit (501(c)(3)) arm, Papa Kū Māna.

Proceeds from our Mākeke Makahiki fundraiser go toward supporting school operations, programs, and services benefiting our kula as well as our ʻōpio. The preview of Mākeke items will launch on Friday, November 20th via ClickBid (https://halaukumana.cbo.io) and bidding will open the following Wednesday, November 25th to coincide with the day our kula usually celebrates Makahiki in beautiful Maunalaha. Monetary donations can be made any time.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at papakumana@gmail.com or Kahunawai at (808) 551-4066 (text or call). On behalf of our Hālau Kū Māna ʻohana, mahalo a nui for supporting Hawaiian education! E mālama pono.

We invite you to donate your tax deductible item(s) by first completing this short form:
