Kū I Ka Māna

Like the one from whom he received what he learned.

The haumana received knowledge from the mouth of his teacher.

Aloha Hālau Kū Māna ‘Ohana!

Long time parents of HKM haumana know what it means to be part of this ‘ohana. This is not written in a spirit of arrogance, but one of a serving spirit – for surely this is the meaning of being mākua to these ōp’io.

This area of the site will soon hold several items – a survey to discover how we can improve the experience of being ‘ohana, links to resources for our keiki, as well as ways to connect with Aha Mākua – the parent/teacher/student organization for our school.

We will also make available ways to kokua the school and links to important documents.

Mahalo for your patience as we try to make this a workable tool.

Papa Kū Māna

Aloha!

I maika‘i ke kalo i ka ‘ōhā.
"The goodness of the taro is judged by the young plant it produces."

The keiki who are fortunate enough to attend Hālau Kū Māna and graduate become part of something much greater than themselves. We are proud of the small part we play in creating agents of change for Hawai'iʻs future, and custodians of mai nā kūpuna mai.

We canʻt do this alone. Charter schools start the year with a fraction of the per-student funding that a traditional DOE institution does. There are a number of ways we compensate for this shortfall, but the single most important source of funding is you.
