Our school is preparing to welcome Lono and the Makahiki season. Many of you should have been made aware of the upcoming week’s special schedule and special events to celebrate. Here’s a quick rundown:
Monday, 11/20 – Mālama ʻĀina Day: All students should come to school ready to get dirty and clean our campus. Extra change of clothes is suggested, but optional.
Tuesday, 11/21 – Community Workshop Day: Students will have a unique opportunity to engage with cultural practitioners and experts in either an all day or 2 half day workshops.
Wednesday, 11/22 – REPORT TO SCHOOL BY 7:00 AM; Makahiki ceremony to begin at 8:00 AM; Hula and games to follow at Archie Baker park; and ʻAha ʻĀina lunch to close the day’s festivities
Mahalo Nui to all our makua who have signed up to make a donation for the ʻAha ʻĀina. We are still looking for a few donations for the ʻAha ʻĀina. Review the requests here and sign up if you are able to donate. Mai poina, dry goods can be dropped off at our office beginning Monday, 11/20. All food products should be dropped off on Tuesday, 11/21 before 10:00 AM. If you have any questions, please call our office.
